Sustainability

The most sustainable surface is the one you don’t replace.

For 93 years, NUMAEX has been built around long-life products and tightly engineered processes. We treat sustainability as a design discipline — not a marketing posture — and we measure it three ways: what leaves our plant, what stays inside the building, and how long it lasts before anyone has to think about it again.

Our Commitment

Zero liquid discharge.

Our Ahmedabad plant operates on a manufacturing footprint where, at the boundary of the plant, effectively nothing crosses outwards except finished product.

Audited under Gujarat Pollution Control Board norms.

How We Work

Six disciplines, applied every day.

03

Aluminium Recovery

Trim cut-offs, chips and end-of-batch billet are returned to a partner smelter for closed-loop recycling. The aluminium in a NUMAEX frame today is, on average, ~40% recovered metal.

04

Glass Cullet

Off-cuts and reject panels are crushed on-site and shipped as float-grade cullet to an Indian glassmaker. None of our glass goes to landfill.

06

Long-Life Coatings

PVDF finishes carry warranties measured in decades, not years. The longer a surface stays beautiful, the longer it stays installed — and replacement is the largest carbon cost in interior architecture.

Heritage

Built for the next century, since 1933.

A 93-year-old company has a different relationship to time. We’ve seen design fashions arrive and pass; we’ve seen materials promoted and abandoned. What endures is the simple discipline of making surfaces that remain serviceable, beautiful and repairable for generations.

Many of our pieces installed in the 1960s and 1970s are still in their original buildings — cleaned, refinished, but never replaced. That continuity is, in our reading, the most honest sustainability claim a manufacturer can make.
